Quick Visit To Artichoke Reservoir

Had about an hour to kill on my way up to NH to pick up my son. After a few casts into some weeded areas, I found a decent spot on the back side off the "skinny bridge." on my 3rd or 4th cast with a rattle trap, got hit hard and snagged about a largemouth between 1 1/2-2 lbs (don't have scale. Educated guess. I def need to get one!!) Didn't have much time to explore elsewhere but was happy with results. Will def go again when I have more time to spend. Been using my phone on this site and can't load pics from here. When I get on my computer, I will!!

Report Catches

Off skinny bridge/Turkey Hill rd. Catch

  • # of Fish Caught: 1
  • Water Type: freshwater
  • Type of Fish: Largemouth Bass
  • Bait Details: Used a rattle trap (not sure if there's another name for it. Couldn't find it listed. I'm pretty new still.) I reeled it pretty fast, pause and let it come up a bit and so on. Bass hit it hard about 12 feet from bridge, on right side under some trees.
  • Location Details: The weight is an estimate. I don't have a scale, but it was a good size.... If you take turkey hill road and follow it around you come to a small bridge. Gotta park on the side of the road after the bridge but there's a pull off spot. Some good spots to fish around there. Caught mine off the right side of the bridge under a tree.

Comments

  • The Artichoke is my number one favorite shore fishing spot. There are big fish in there. That bridge gets a little crowded though, there's some nice area on the undeveloped side of Turkey Hill Road.

  • Great feeling when a bass hammers a crankbait...
